OUR APPROACH

The key to success:

A motivating purpose,
a future-focused strategy & the right culture to deliver it.

Interchange can help you bring these three critical elements into alignment.

At Interchange, we’re masters of the systems of culture. We know the value of tying them back to purpose and strategy. This holistic approach is what drives performance, lifts efficiency, and makes Interchange so effective.

First, we will work closely with your Executive and Boards to explore, test and define your organisation’s direction.

Then, we’ll delve into your organisational culture.

Do you have mindsets that need a shift? Behaviours requiring redirection? An operating model in want of analysis? KPIs to reassess?

That’s where our, end-to-end RELATE framework comes in.

RELATE FRAMEWORK

Stage 1: Review

The first step leverages our expertise in the interconnected systems of culture. We explore the relevant aspects of your Technical System -  the structure, systems, or processes - alongside your Social System, encompassing behaviours, mindsets and beliefs. Our detailed analysis of all these aspects shines the spotlight on the likely obstacles to change.

Stage 2: Engage

This stage is about preparation and momentum. Getting on the front foot with change is critical to its success. This phase is designed to give you a head start on your change challenge by using dynamic engagement strategies such as creative communications campaigns, senior leadership reassurance or establishing a coalition of change agents to be your voice of reason to the masses.

Stage 3: Learn

This is the time to adopt your fresh perspectives. Interchange crafts bespoke programs and opportunities for individuals to evolve so that, collectively, they can shift an organisation.

Stage 4: Act

Four orange quarter circles arranged to form a square with a white cross in the middle, creating a geometric pattern.

This is the phase when the deployment of change happens. It’s where we integrate new skills into existing ways of working and convert the momentum we’ve built into visible change activity. Interchange can provide on-ground support during this phase, coaching participants and providing guidance as they test and learn.

Stage 5: Teach

A pink, circular shape with four white curved segments dividing it into quadrants.

Here you’ll expand the impact of change beyond your initial focus group. Founded on the principle that you don’t completely know something until you can teach it to someone else, this stage ensures the new behaviours have impact. It is often at this point when you’ll extend the change to your connection with customers, the community or remote members of your workforce.

Stage 6: Embed

You’ve done the work, now you need to review its alignment and sustainability. It’s important to undertake a mini health check of your change to ensure other aspects of the cultural system are supporting the new skill or behaviour. Keeping your hand on the wheel at this stage will drive lasting change and keep your organisational evolution moving forward.

This methodology will look different depending on the solution you seek, but the principle is the same. We’ll conserve what is working, discard what isn’t and stabilise the foundations to drive your business goals.
